RAGAČ, Radoslav: News About the Slovak National Uprising and the Situation in Slovakia on the Pages of the Periodical Naše noviny in September 1944 (Part 2)
The second part of newspaper articles on the Slovak National Uprising, originally published in the Czechoslovak Periodical Naše noviny—issued by the Czechoslovak Independent Armoured Brigade—covers the period from September 18 to September 30, 1944. It continues from the first installment of these reports, featured in Pamäť národa, No. 1/2024. Throughout September 1944, the primary sources of daily information on the situation in insurgent-controlled Slovakia included official statements and actions of the Czechoslovak government and its members, monitoring of broadcasts by Slobodný vysielač (Free Radio) from Banská Bystrica, official broadcasts from Bratislava, reports issued by the rebel military command, and the press. Despite occasional factual inaccuracies, these reports offer a valuable and insightful perspective on the Slovak National Uprising as seen through the eyes of soldiers from the Czechoslovak exile army.
